Gosh~ Super shagged!
Last night was the first day of bball training for Canberra CSC.
Made a major mistake of not eating anything before the training. Reason: I'M LAZY. Lazy to go out to da bao back food and lazy to cook maggi mee also. So end up going to the training with an empty stomach. Gosh. In the end, felt super faint and weak during the training with my gastric churning in pain thru-out.
Felt good having done a work out cause at least I'm exercising and hopefully losing some weight. But i really really hope i wouldn't gain bulk like i did from training back in my netball-ing days. I'm really scared of becoming the super big and muscular me during my netball-ing days. Sad to say, exercising to lose weight maybe isn't suitable for my body cause i only started losing weight after i graduated from amkss, when i started to do sports just for fun and leisure instead of fierce intensive trainings for competition.
So i shall pray that i wouldn't get muscular again! PLEASE!
Anyway, I'd some thoughts after today's training. Somehow, i feel like bball is not my type of sports. After 10 years of netball-ing in primary and secondary school, I'm still very used to netball's rules and method of playing.
1. My netball coach always wants us to use one hand shoulder pass or lobs instead of chest pass but somehow, bball relies on chest passes alot. But i still cant help but use lobs and one hand shoulder pass subconsciously.
2. I'm used to playing C, and as a Center, I'm only required to bring the ball down to shooters. So it's just run run run pass pass pass and more running and passing non-stop. But in bball, everyone can shoot, which is a serious problem for me, cause my shooting sucks.
3. Netball doesn't requires dribbling and dribbling of the ball more then once is considered against the rules. That sums up why i always tend to pass the ball away instead of dribbling and bringing the ball down during bball.
4. BODY CONTACTS. In netball, the 3 feets away rule is so drilled into my body and mind. Subconsciously, I'm standing a distance away from my opponent when I'm defending in bball. And, I'm seriously scared of contacts. Somehow, I'm still not used to bball rough contacts.
All these sums up my uncertainties for joining bball. Netball is still drilled deep into me. I'm really not sure whether i could shake off all these netball habits at all.
Somehow, i'm starting to have second thoughts. Perhaps bball just isn't the right game for me.
Perhaps without a newbie like me, the training would be smoother as everyone else had some backgrounds in bball.
